Custom Categories & Prompts

MediScan AI now allows you to create custom categories and prompts to fine-tune the way medical records are reviewed and summarized. These tailored options enable professionals across specialties to highlight the most relevant information for their cases, saving time and ensuring accuracy.

By defining categories and prompts specific to your specialty, MediScan AI delivers summaries that align directly with your workflow, helping you focus on the insights that matter most.

And there's more—effortlessly toggle and rearrange categories to perfectly suit your needs.

Now, you have the power to customize MediScan’s categories in any sequence you desire, switching them on or off for all your cases or just a single one. In the image above, you will see the "grab handles" to the left of the list item. Click on this icon to move the category into any order you desire. To hide a category, simply click the "eye" icon so it won't appear in your summaries. Note that this can be done at the team level for all of your cases, or at the case level.

Creating your first custom category and prompt at the account level

Let's start at the account level. Designing a custom category at the account level ensures that it influences every one of your summaries. Stay tuned, as we'll delve into crafting custom categories at the summary level later in this email.

Start your journey by selecting "Account settings" from the left-hand navigation menu. Next, click on "More" beside "Custom categories." Here, you have the exciting opportunity to tailor your categories by adding fresh ones or retiring outdated ones. Keep in mind, however, that MediScan’s default categories are here to stay for now.

Sorting and filtering categories at the team level

Unlock the power of team-level organization with our "Sort and Filter" feature. Effortlessly customize your categories to fit your workflow, arranging them in any order you prefer and hiding those you don't need. Keep in mind, these changes will apply to all your future cases, ensuring a streamlined process moving forward.

Adding categories and prompts at the team level

Unleash your creativity with our most powerful feature yet that lets you to craft your own categories and prompts. Remember, the effectiveness of the AI hinges on the quality of your prompt. To get started, simply hit the "Add categories" button, name your category, and type in your prompt. Below, you'll find great examples from real users who have embraced this innovative feature.

So what is an example of a custom category and prompt?

Category: Factors of disability

Prompt: Show me the four categories of disability if present in the medical records such as subjective factors, objective factors, work restrictions, and loss of pre-injury capacity

Here’s another example:

Category: Surgical Indicators and Outcomes

Prompt: Identify key surgical indicators in the medical records, including diagnostic imaging findings, physical exam results, prior conservative treatments attempted, and functional limitations. Additionally, summarize any postoperative outcomes, complications, or follow-up recommendations.

Creating your first custom category and prompt at the case level

Imagine tailoring your categories and prompts to fit the unique needs of a specific case, or perhaps opting to disable existing categories for a singular focus. For instance, you might be solely interested in pinpointing a diagnosis and assessing work status for an individual case.

Organizing your categories – account or case level

Effortlessly tailor your category arrangement to your liking by simply dragging them into your preferred sequence on the listview. Just click the “drag handle” icon next to the category and glide it to your desired position.
